Too Late for Sushi - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Here's my final November layout for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The colours in the main photo are accurate, but the detail photos are out of whack - I had a devil of a time photographing the transparencies this time around (??!?). *sigh*

I wanted to change the look of these transparencies, so I added alcohol inks to the back, and it did the trick.

The story behind the title - more Liam-isms...

Supplies (available here from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking):
PP - Pink Paislee, Lily Bee
transparency - Teresa Collins
letters - Pink Paislee
twine, ribbon - Jillibean Soup
chipboard - Lily Bee

Other Supplies:
ink, alcohol ink - Ranger
white pen - Uniball Signo
marker - Staedtler Triplus Fineliner
photoshop actions - The Pioneer Woman
TTV frame - Deborah Gwinn
other - brads

First Day of School

Finally scrapped the boy's first day of school. These papers from Scrap Within Reach were perfect. I've got a real soft spot for their papers, as I can't get enough of grungy, distressed designs.

I added in some corrugated cardboard, and twine stitches for texture.

Still showing my love for the Tim Holtz gears. I can't get enough of these - it's like the boy equivalent of flowers - I want them on every page.

It's fun to tuck a few embellishments in a corner...

Sometimes just the facts is all I want for journaling, so these tickets are perfect.

Supplies:
PP, stickers, letters - Scrap Within Reach
corrugated cardboard - Creative Imaginations
gears, washer, brad - Tim Holtz
kraft tickets - Maya Road
paperclip - KI Memories
twine - Jillibean Soup
marker - Staedtler Triplus Fineliner

Swing Away - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

I did this layout for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month. This layout again features Pink Paislee and Lily Bee papers, with a few other goodies mixed in.

When I first opened my kit this month, I was a little stumped at the 'clocks' transparency, but in the end it was fun to include in my pages. The circle elements worked well, and it's an easy way to add layers.

I used the rest of the Prima flowers on this layout, and I just love that they worked so well with 'boy' pages.

More of the Jillibean Soup pins and twine. The pins are so easy to use - just tuck them in with other embellishments and poke a glue dot under the bead to make sure it stays put.

The twine was a fun way to add a little interest to the journaling. I love jute twine for 'boy' pages.

Supplies (available here from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking):
PP - Pink Paislee, Lily Bee
transparency - Teresa Collins
letters - Pink Paislee
twine, pins - Jillibean Soup
flowers - Prima Marketing

Other Supplies:
ink, alcohol ink - Ranger
white pen - Uniball Signo

Got Milk?

This is the third of my November projects for Tattered Angels, again featuring wood. (That's not a shadow in the top right corner - it really is darker there...).

I actually embossed this piece of wood laminate, with my Big Shot. I'm quite happy with the results, although I'm wondering if it would have been better to dampen it first - there was some cracking. Afterward, I coated it with Chalkboard mist, and dry brushed a little Glimmer Mist over the raised portions.

This butterfly was punched from the wood, then painted with Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze - I love these products on the wood, and I will absolutely use this technique again.

The wood flourishes are from Kaisercraft and I painted them with more of the Glimmer Glam. The flowers were die-cut from the wood laminate, and spritzed with Glimmer Mist (same for the cork).

The lace and the letters were both coloured with Glimmer Mist in "Chocolate Covered Cherries". Funny how the lace and the letters look so different!

Supplies (Tattered Angels):
Glimmer Mist - Tattered Rose, Cherry Blossom, Old Lace, Chocolate Covered Cherries, Sweet Clover. Lemongrass, Popsicle
Chalkboard Mist - Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy
Glimmer Glaze - Sugarcane
Glimmer Glam - Dirty Martini
Glimmer Screens - Fanciful Stencils, Vintage Seasons Timeless Romance
Stamps - Rockin' Renaissance Tattered Textures

Other Supplies:
CS - Bazzill
wood - Creative Imaginations, Kaisercraft
letters - Heidi Swapp
ink - StazOn
pen - Staedtler Triplus Fineliner
other - brads, vintage book page, cork

Play Ball - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Here's another layout I created for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month. I love this particular sheet of Pink Paislee paper - I want more of it.

These Prima flowers are great because they aren't too girly - they look fine on a 'boy' page. I love that denim colour on the blue ones especially. The green flourish is upcycled packaging (from Prima), and I cut it with a Tim Holtz die.

I used more of that twine from Jillibean soup to 'tie' the chipboard buttons, and then glued down a strip, winding it around the chipboard.

I clustered a few embellishments in the top corner to the balance the layout - it was starting to look bottom heavy. I love these pins from Jillibean soup - I want them in every colour!

That yummy lace is from Prima - and I love that it works for a 'boy' page.

Supplies (available here from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking):
PP - Pink Paislee, Crate
flowers, lace - Prima Marketing
letters - Pink Paislee
chipboard - Lily Bee
twine, pins - Jillibean Soup

Other Supplies:
ink - Ranger
pen - Uniball Signo
other - upcycled packaging from Prima flowers

Smarty Pants

Here's another one of my November projects for Tattered Angels. It continues in the theme of incorporating wood into the project. You can see what the original colour of the wood laminate looked like on this scrap below:

You can see the grain much more easily once it has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist (and the mist is awesome on wood). Also in this shot - I used Glimmer Glam on the fabric-covered chipboard letters.

After die-cutting these leaves from the wood I stamped textures on them. The brown leaf was sprayed with "Coffee Shop" Glimmer Mist, and the green leaf also includes "Dirty Martini" Glimmer Glam.

Not only does wood take the mists beautifully - so does cork. The flourish is from the wood laminate again. I'm not so sure about cutting thin strips like this from the wood - it tends to curl when you mist it, and it gets tricky. The wider shapes are much easier to work with. (This was simply because the wood laminate was as thin as paper)

Of course, the story behind the title:

Supplies (Tattered Angels):
Glimmer Mist - Tattered Leather, Jack O'Lantern, Sugar Maple, Peppermint Stick, Caramel Apple, Coffee Shop
Glimmer Glam - Dirty Martini
Glimmer Glaze - Oil Slick
Chalkboard Mist - Peacock
Glimmer Screens - Fanciful Stencils
stamps - Rockin' Renaissance Tattered Textures

Other Supplies:
CS - Bazzill
letters - American Crafts
wood - Creative Imaginations
pen - Uniball Signo
ink - StazOn
other - cork, shrink plastic, vintage book page, brads

Altered Mitten Box

Today I would like to share with you my first official Tattered Angels project - a mitten box. This month we were challenged to incorporate wood into our projects - and I chose to alter this old CD rack. I no longer needed it for CD's - my collection has long outgrown this box - so I decided it would make a good basket for the front entry to hold all our mittens.

It was rather boring as is, but some Glimmer Mist fixed that problem pretty quick. ;)

I used glimmer screens with texture medium to create the design on the front, then spritzed with several shades of Glimmer Mist.

Once all the main colours were dry, I added a different texture medium all around the top edge, that looks more like ice crystals. I allowed that to dry, then added Chalkboard Mist in "Chalk" to make it look a little more like snow.

I used the Glimmer Screens on the sides as well, this time with just the Glimmer Mist.

Supplies (Tattered Angels):
Glimmer Mist - Denim Blue, Sapphire, Artic Blue, Moonlight, Dragonfly, Pashmina, Winterpine
Chalkboard mist - Chalk
Glimmer Screens - Winter Crystals (snowflakes), Fanciful Stencils (flourish)

Other Supplies:
repurposed wooden CD rack
texture medium - Liquitex

Easter Ninja?! - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Here's another layout that I created for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month. In addition to the Pink Paislee "Old School" line, I was also sent one of the fab papers from the Parisian Anthology line (as well as some yummy Lily Bee). It was so much fun misting up the resist paper! I want to play with that collection more - and I think it will happen sooner, rather than later.

This arch was just begging to be fussy-cut, so who am I to say "no"?

The pearl flourish from Prima comes with the lace already attached - talk about easy! The chipboard buttons are from Lily Bee, and are great shapes for boy or girl pages.

Of course, the story behind the title:

(I added a little alcohol ink to the glitter letters, to tone them down)

Supplies (available here from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking):
PP - Pink Paislee, Crate, Lily Bee
letters - Pink Paislee
pearl/lace flourish - Prima
chipboard - Lily Bee

Other Supplies:
Glimmer mist - Tattered Angels (Jack O'Lantern, Caramel Apple, Arctic Blue, Sunshine, Indian Corn)

Pirate Cookies - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

This month Scrap Attack Scrapbooking sent me a kit based around Pink Paislee's "Old School". I love these types of colours, and they were ideal for a bunch of 'boy' pictures I haven't had a chance to scrap lately.

I love jute twine, so I was pleased to get some in my kit. I used it for a lot of random stitches on this page.

These glitter stickers were a little brighter than I wanted for this page, so I toned them down a bit with alcohol ink.

These chipboard buttons did not come with holes in them, but I easily changed that with my crop-a-dile. Then I was able to tie some twine through the holes.

I took advantage of the lines on the die cut paper for my journaling.

Supplies (available here from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking):
PP - Pink Paislee, Lily Bee
letters, glitter stickers - Pink Paislee
chipboard - Lily Bee
twine - Jillibean Soup
alcohol ink - Ranger
