Friendship card - Authentique "Peaceful" and Love My Tapes lace

This week Authentique is doing a cross-promo with Love My Tapes.  How lucky for me - since I love their lace tape (as you may already know).

This self-adhesive lace pairs perfectly with Authentique's heavily textured papers - it sticks with no problem at all.  I used Zap Dots to pop up the sentiment sticker.

I used Helmar Gemstone Glue on these dew drops - they're not going to fall off in the mail!

PS - I'll have another card with a similar technique on Saturday - which will be part of a Blog Hop you don't want to miss... *hint, hint*

Supplies (Authentique "Peaceful" collection):
Freeze, Cozy, Chill papers
Details stickers

Adhesives (Helmar):
Professional Acid Free Glue
Zap Dots
Gemstone Glue

Dress Up Day - Halloween with Authentique, Helmar & Green Tara

Since I took these pictures last year at Halloween, I figured I'd probably better post them before THIS Halloween, hahha!  Oh my poor blog has suffered during my mojo-drought.  I can't seem to string together more than 3 words before they stop making any sense...

This paper collection is from Authentique (Enchanted).  I love the type of orange they chose - it's not so crayola, if that makes any sense (see what I mean?).  I like that it's strong, but not neon.

With all the fun little stickers in this collection, it was easy to find one for my journaling.   I used Zap-Dots on just half of the date sticker, allowing room for the chunky leaf to fit underneath.

Helmar 450 Quick Dry is the perfect solution for tricky-to-glue trims like this 'cobweb trim' from Green Tara:

Yeah... still a little addicted to my Distess Stains...

A little outlining with a marker can help stickers stand out:

PP, stickers, letters - Authentique "Enchanted" collection
trim, leaves - Green Tara

"Comic Shop Visit" - Ruby Rock-it

Hi everyone!  I'd been 'sitting' on this snap shot for quite some time (many years), and figured it was about time I scrap it.  I used the new Bella! Boutique "Family" line from Ruby Rock-it.

Combine a chipboard banner with a title?  Sure!  These mini-letters are part of the die-cut "Words to Go" pack.

There are a number of great chipboard shapes in the Inspiration pack.  I popped (with Zap Dots) one of the 'Words to Go' phrases for a little lift.

A little machine stitching is an easy way to add texture:

Snow Ball - Authentique October Colour challenge

Hmmm - having one of those days when some things are weird colours in the photographs.  I'll leave it to you to decide which, ha ha...  but let's just say the things that look yellow are actually the perfect shade of green to match the paper. Stupid light.

At any rate - I really wanted the colours to be perfect, because this is for the Authentique October colour challenge.  I hope you'll try out the challenge and share with us!

This May Arts trim has an awesome texture.  Helmar 450 Quick Dry made it stick.

I've said it before - if you don't understand why flowers and snow belong on the same page, you haven't spent spring in Canada, ha ha!

I popped some of the stickers, with Zap Dots,  to give them a little 'oomph'.

Kinda in love with these tiny snowflakes - I expect to see them on a lot of winter pages in the next while.

Thank you to May Arts and Imagine Crafts for the trims and inks supplied to the Authentique team!

Meilleurs Amis - a boy and his cat, scrapbooking with Bo Bunny

This layout was published last year in "Histoires de Pages" - my favorite scrappy magazine.  "Meilleurs Amis" translates to "Best Friends".   I placed the title letters on a lighter paper, then cut around and mounted as one piece on the page.  I wanted to use these blue letters, but they wouldn't have stood out very well without a little white behind them.

The 'leather' and zipper trim were perfect for a boy page.  This was also one of those times that I decided to leave the chipboard 'bare' - the colour just worked, so why mess with it.

I misted on the background for a little more colour and 'texture'.  I need to get back to doing this more often.

Supplies:
PP, letters, trims, rub-ons, brads, chipboard banner - Bo Bunny
chipboard paws - Riff Raff
marker - Staedtler Triplus Fineliner
glimmer mist - Tattered Angels
stencil - The Crafters Workshop
ink - Ranger

Fresh - Ruby Rock-it "Mother Nature" collection

Fresh-kage

Today I wanted to share a project using the new Mother Nature range.  This collection is beautiful.  I couldn't resist using for this photo of my nephew when he was a baby.

This collection includes a couple of embossed cardstocks - I used the ivory one here.  It's an easy way to get a little more texture without bulk.  The lace is one of the beautiful trims from the same collection.

The cute chipboard buttons even come with coordinating twine for those who prefer their buttons 'dressed'.  It's got enough body that you can thread it through without a needle, making it fast to use.  If you like die cuts and journaling spots, this collection has got those too - I used a few as layering elements, including this scalloped circle.

I used a punch with my scraps to make these clouds, and popped them with foam adhesive. I added some corrugated cardboard to give it a little more 'boy grunge'.

"Balloon" - Susan K Weckesser, Helmar, and some good news

My daughter's first birthday - yup, I'm still scrapping photos.  Hey - it was a big day, LOL!  But I couldn't resist using these whimsical papers with pictures of my little princess.

I added a little bit of stenciling to the background, using Distress Ink.  Dimensional adhesive like Zap Dots can add a little extra oomph to punched shapes, like these clouds:

I used Professional Acid Free glue for all the papers and photos, and 450 Quick Dry for the chunky embellishments.

I used clear Robin's Nest tear drops and mini-dew drops, and Gemstone Glue was perfect for these tricky-to-glue embellishments.

And now for my news - I've joined the first design team for Susan K Weckesser Inc.  You can see the full announcement Here.  The timing is good, as I've recently finished a couple of commitments, and my term with Ruby Rock-it will be over in a month.  I'm excited to get to work with a Canadian designer - this is something that I've wanted for a long time.  :)

"Oka Beach" - Blog Hop with Authentique and Unity Stamp Company

Welcome to Day 2 of the Authentique Paper & Unity Stamp Co blog hop! If you came here from Andrea Murdock's blog, you're on the right track! Make sure you hop along with us today (leaving comments along the way) for your chance to win some Authentique & Unity prizes!

For my project I paired the Unity Stamp set "All Day Pass" with the Authentique "Original" collection.  I stamped on kraft cardstock and cut out the shapes to create embellishments for my page.

This set comes with several 'ticket' stamps as well as this fun sentiment:

Who says you have to show the whole stamp every time you use it?  Go ahead and use them as layers!

And of course, one of the stamps makes a cute journaling spot!

I'm in love with this paper collection.  Authentique "Original" will go with so many things - just like a great pair of jeans.

Now - make sure you hop on over to the Unity Stamp blog for the last stop on today's hop.  And good luck in the draw!

Supplies:
PP, letters, stickers - Authentique "Original" collection
stamps - Unity Stamp Company "All Day Pass" set
ribbon - May Arts
pins - Fancy Pants
wood heart - Studio Calico

"Unsure" - Authentique October Sketch challenge

Have you seen this month's sketch challenge over at the Authentique blog?  This is my take on the layout sketch (there's a card variation, as well).  We'd love it if you'd pop on over and share your version of the sketch(es).  Plus, you get entered in the random draw for an Authentique prize pack.

I used Zap Dots to pop up the journaling sticker, and clustered a few more stickers around it.  The title was mounted on solid cardstock, then I cut around it and popped it as well, to make it stand out more.

The swirls in the sketch made me think of winter winds, so I tried to capture that feeling with the burlap twine (May Arts).   I wanted to do something different with the word stickers, so I scattered a few around the page, inside and outside the swirls.

I finally had a great excuse to use these Dusty Attic chipboard snowflakes  First I primed them with gesso, then I tapped a green inkpad on them lightly (just enough to leave a hint of green to match the papers).  Then I sprayed with Shimmer Mist (Imagine Crafts).  It made the green ink blend, and gave the snowflakes a terrific shimmer.  (So hard to capture the shimmer in photos!)

Thanks for visiting - and thank you May Arts and Imagine Crafts for all the goodies you sent to the Authentique team!

Supplies (Authentique "Peaceful" collection):
PP - Chill, Frost, Cozy
elements stickers
details stickers

chipboard snowflakes - Dusty Attic
twisted burlap twine - May Arts

La Folie des Citrouilles - Authentique Pin-spired Monday

The Authentique blog has a Monday feature called "Pin-spired Monday".  This is one my of recent takes on that challenge.  Lately, I've been very drawn to quatrefoil patterns, so I took my inspiration from this 'Pin':

I incorporated the quatrefoil design into my layout by die-cutting simple black cardstock and using the pieces like trim or lace on my page:

It almost looks like iron-work when used for a Hallowe'en theme, but in another colour it could be light and airy.  I like the added texture it gives, while still allowing the beautiful paper beneath to show through.

Details and Elements stickers and letters finish off the page, including this journaling spot.  I love it when journaling can also be an embellishment!  Tracing around the stickers gives them a little extra definition against a busy background like this one.

flair - Lucky7Factory
flowers - Green Tara
twine - Hemptique
brads - Making Memories, Queen & Co
