Glass Bottle - Glimmer Misted
Continuing with the glass theme this month, I altered this glass bottle with Tattered Angels mediums.
I have a number of pictures here, because I wanted to show all the sides. This jar started out as a button jar in my sewing room (and will go back to that duty now - only prettier).
I primed the jar with clear gesso, to give the glass a little more 'tooth'.
I used some of the snowflake glimmer screens on the bottle - love the look on the glass!
I put a rather thick coat of the gesso, and it crackled when it dried. (I don't know if that's normal or not, to be honest). The effect was unexpected, but I love it.
You can see here that I had stamped one of the crackle texture stamps in various places, but I guess I didn't need to!
Some of these cracks are from the stamp, and some are from the gesso. The glimmer mist seeped into all the cracks to great effect.
I just love how the glimmer mist catches the light when used on glass!
