Strong & Free

I like to scrapbook Canada Day photos, but it's not easy to find Canada papers that suit my style. (OK - not even close!) So I made my own. For this layout I used one stencil over and over, moving the position and varying the mist colours (Burnt Red, Indian Summer, Coffee Shop). It’s an easy way to create depth in your misted images. I then misted the entire background with Nougat and the edges with Tattered Leather glimmer mists.

The chipboard leaves were primed with gesso, then received multiple coats of Brick glimmer mist and/or Flirty glimmer glaze (depending on which leaf). I used a heat gun to make the gesso and glaze bubble while they were drying, to give more texture. (Stamps are from the Tattered Textures set).

Had fun with my new Fiskars border punch, too. :)

The layout needed a little pop of another colour, and the green wire was just the trick.

Supplies (Tattered Angels):
glimmer mist - Burnt Red, Indian Summer, Brick, Nougat, Tattered Leather, Coffee Shop
glimmer glaze - Firty
stamps - Tattered Textures

Other Supplies:
CS - Scenic Route
letters - American Crafts
chipboard - Scrap FX & Maya Road
gesso - Liquitex
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen
other - paper-wrapped wire
stencil - Creative Imaginations
