Fall Beauty - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Here's the other page where I used that Prima felt gate (from my December DT kit at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking). You can see a little more of the gate shape on this layout. What can I say - I like to take things apart! But how delicious is this felt mixed with these gorgeous flowers from Prima?


Here's a close up of the chunky lace from Prima. I love the dimension it gives.



I used a piece of Basic Grey lace cardstock as a mask on this page, and spritzed with "Tattered Leather" glimmer mist.

You at 5 1/2 - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

These papers from Lily Bee worked perfectly with this photo of my boy. I took the opportunity to record some of his current favorites, and things that he does. This is another layout I created for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month.

I love how these chipboard letters look like they've been stitched. A fun little detail.


I used little piece of the Prima lace to cover a gap beside the photo. I had to reprint the photo, after an 'oops' and didn't quite get it the same size.


Speaking of 'oops'... those clear stickers from Adornit? You'll never have to worry if they will stick - oh do they ever! I just barely touched the corner of one to my photo by accident, and could not get it off - I tore the photo trying. The upside is that I don't have to worry about them falling off my pages!

Quinn Pumpkins - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

This is my another layout I created for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month. I got to work with rich fall colours, and took advantage of that for scrapbooking some photos from the pumpkin patch.

These small circles are from the 'reinforcement' portion of the Tim Holtz tag die. They make an easy embellishment on their own and are a good way to use up some scraps.


I received a Prima felt gate in my kit this month, and of course - I couldn't leave well enough alone - I had to cut it up and spread it around. ;) I think it goes perfectly with these gorgeous Prima flowers.


With a little help from a Sizzix die, I paper-pieced a pumpkin embellishment from scraps. The 'stem' is a piece from the Prima felt gate.


We go to Quinn Farm to get our pumpkins. Last year Rhys was too small to get out of the stroller and run around, but she made up for it this year, ha!

Winter Suncatchers

This month for Tattered Angels they challenged us to work with glass. So for my first project this, I chose to make sun catchers for my kitchen window.

To make these sun catchers I started with glass slides. I stamped with versamark ink, and embossed with white embossing powder, then I spritzed with Glimmer Mist. It works on plain glass - but it does take a long time to dry.

I did 2 slides, then mounted them face to face in the metal frame. This way, if I touch them, moisture on my hands will not smear the Glimmer Mist.

And here is what it looks like when it's not back lit. The white embossing really pops when lit from the front, and still gives nice shape and contrast when back lit in the window.

The metal frame started out silver, but I wanted red - so I painted it with Glimmer Glaze in "Flirty". The ribbon was white, but I dyed it with the same green Glimmer Mist that I used on the slides (Winter Pine).



For this second sun-catcher I used the same process, but swapped out the colours and the stamp shape.

Tradition - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

This month for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, I got a kit based around Lily Bee's "Catching Fall" collection. The papers are great because they mix and match so well with papers from other manufacturers. This page includes Lily Bee, Basic Grey and Crate!

I gave the background a light spritz of Glimmer Mist, and pressed only half-way on the pump to get the splotches.


It's easy to cut borders and motifs from the Basic Grey lace cardstock, making it perfect for little embellishments.


The bling, lace and flowers are from Prima - love these chunky laces!


These clear stickers from Adornit really, really stick, and work perfectly over any surface.


My niece Shelbie is getting to be quite the fiddle player, and I really look forward to hearing her play whenever we get back out east.

Groovy Baby

Yup - had to scrap these photos again. I just knew my Mom would want them, and I love how my girl looks in these pics. I had fun playing with some Scrap Within Reach for this layout. I love the Afternoon Tea collection, and I might have to try to score some more of it, because I have very little left.

It pairs well with this velvet trim from Maya Road (and the pin as well).


I decided to make my own flowers for this page. I didn't want to waste any of this great paper. ;)


I had a Zva pearl flourish that was the perfect shade to match these papers.

Blissfully Unaware

Time for another sketch challenge over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Here's my sketch for the month. As you can see, I'm still learning to use my tablet...

I snagged a new Martha Stewart punch recently, and I used it on Prima flower packaging for all these little green bits you see peeking out from the flowers. I love this new punch - you will see it again... *wink*


I combined a couple of older lines of Pink Paislee papers for this layout. The text print you see behind the flowers is from the Vintage Moon collection, which I'm still hoarding, because I love it.


Story behind the photo: I snapped this picture of my daughter, and then realized her brother was coming behind her with a stick for some nefarious purpose. Yikes!

Baby's First Christmas

When I saw these new papers from Harmonie, I couldn't wait to play with them. I made my own flowers from the paper scraps, using die cuts and punches, and just scrunching them. There are a lot of great tutorials on-line for these, but you basically just scrunch up the paper after you punch it. It's a great way to use up scraps.


This laser-cut chipboard shape is also from Harmonie. I painted it with glimmer mist, using a paint brush so that I could control the placement of the three colours. I added clear embossing powder to the ornaments and took the heat gun to it. It creates an interesting effect when you emboss using glimmer mist instead of ink.

Too Late for Sushi - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Here's my final November layout for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The colours in the main photo are accurate, but the detail photos are out of whack - I had a devil of a time photographing the transparencies this time around (??!?). *sigh*

I wanted to change the look of these transparencies, so I added alcohol inks to the back, and it did the trick.

First Day of School

Finally scrapped the boy's first day of school. These papers from Scrap Within Reach were perfect. I've got a real soft spot for their papers, as I can't get enough of grungy, distressed designs.

I added in some corrugated cardboard, and twine stitches for texture.


Still showing my love for the Tim Holtz gears. I can't get enough of these - it's like the boy equivalent of flowers - I want them on every page.


It's fun to tuck a few embellishments in a corner...


Sometimes just the facts is all I want for journaling, so these tickets are perfect.

Swing Away - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

I did this layout for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month. This layout again features Pink Paislee and Lily Bee papers, with a few other goodies mixed in.

When I first opened my kit this month, I was a little stumped at the 'clocks' transparency, but in the end it was fun to include in my pages. The circle elements worked well, and it's an easy way to add layers.


I used the rest of the Prima flowers on this layout, and I just love that they worked so well with 'boy' pages.


More of the Jillibean Soup pins and twine. The pins are so easy to use - just tuck them in with other embellishments and poke a glue dot under the bead to make sure it stays put.

The twine was a fun way to add a little interest to the journaling. I love jute twine for 'boy' pages.
