C'est Juste Parfait Pour Moi - (chat fou)
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to share a page highlighting some of the new washi tapes from Love My Tapes. The layout was inspired by a challenge from Lucky 7 Factory (the challenge being that you had to create a page with this particular title).
Washi tapes are perfect for layering, as they are slightly transparent, and don't add a lot of bulk. I took advantage of that attribute, with this layout, even layering them over some of the wood hearts. Super easy to stitch through it, as well:
I like how it looks layered over book paper, as you can still see some of the text:
For those who don't read French, this is just about my silly cat drinking from a glass (or trying to) instead of his bowl. Although, it was probably because there was only water in his bowl and he wanted milk...
Supplies (Love My Tapes):
Washi tapes - #618 Measuring Tape, #901 blue zig zag, blue clouds
Other supplies:
PP - Lucky 7 Factory
felt - Basically Bare
wood - Studio Calico
letters - Doodlebug
dew drops - Stamping Bella
stamps - Kaisercraft
ink - StazOn
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen

Paint and gel medium were flying all over the place...
I did this journal page while playing along with the challenges for the Lucky 7 Factory online crop last week. They seriously got me back in my groove - thanks L7F!!
I lost track of the supplies on this fairly early on in the process... but these are the ones I'm sure about:
acrylic paint - Amsterdam
gel medium, gesso - Liquitex
spray - Dylusions by Ranger
stencils - The Crafter's Workshop, punchinella
rub-on letters - Doodlebug (who woulda thunk it, eh?)
stamping ink - StazOn (there are stamps in there somewhere, but God only knows what they were at this point...)
die cuts, flowers, stamps, and random crap on my desk...
...Oh, and the journal is a Canson mixed media journal.

Using self-adhesive fabric makes it super easy to create a trendy chevron background for a card. The stitching is just for looks.
I adhered some of the fabric tape to cardstock, then die-cut for the blue flowers, to get a simple, coordinated embellishment.
Now hop on over to Lisa Tottle's blog for more inspiration!
Don't forget to leave a comment while blogging along, one random commenter will win a fabulous Love My Tapes Prize - 1 lace tape, 1 fabric tape, and 3 washi tapes. You know you want it!

Roundup - April 21/12 - Don't see that everyday...
There's something you don't see every day...
- I need this on a t-shirt, yes I do.
- I want this cake for my next party. (Maybe it'll scare people into saving me an extra piece)
- All they need is self-awareness, and we're screwed.
- Makes me forget all about the death of the penny. (Canada is awesome. )
- Do one thing every day that scares you...
- And that's when I start cussing en français.

Premier jour d'école (First day of school) - Bo Bunny
Found another layout I don't think I ever posted here. I love this Bo Bunny collection - I want to use it for everything related to my son's school pictures, forever, LOL! The colours just work so well with his uniform, it makes me happy.
That eyelet trim is kinda fun for boy pages. I think I might have to dig through my sewing stash to find some in other colours - I'm sure I've got some, somewhere in that black hole, er... sewing space.
Supplies:
PP, stamps, chipboard, letters, brads, trim, rub-ons - Bo Bunny
mini-letters - October Afternoon
tickets - Maya Road
mists, glaze - Tattered Angels
ink - StazOn
white pen - Uniball Signo

Hi Everyone. I have another Ruby Rock-it card to share with you - again using the August Moon collection. I created the back layer by using a couple of punches, then mounting the squares on foam adhesive. I rounded out this card with some flowers and letters from the Fundamentals line.
The pearl crowns from the Bling collection were begging to be used for a princess, don't you think?

- August Moon papers
- August Moon tag set
- August Moon pearls
- August Moon trim
- Bella! Bling Crowns - clear
- Fundamentals letter stickers - pink
- Fundamentals florals - hydrangea pink

Roundup - April 14/12 - Because Tom Jones is cool
Way better than the original - yeah, I said it.
This week's roundup...
- New, from Ikea
- Jimmy Fallon and Bruce Springsteen win the internet. (this early in the day? yup)
- Maybe I just need new sunglasses...
- But I was trying so hard to be good...
- Space, as imagined and painted by children
- Then I might actually watch the show...

Another masculine Birthday card... it pays to keep some scraps...
Just wanted to share a quick card I made for my nephew. I had to rush to make this card, so I started by rummaging through my test cuts from my die cutter, and found these gears (Spellbinders dies, btw). Then I grabbed a few pieces from my bag of scraps - anything that worked with the colour of the gears, and started cutting. It came together pretty fast, thanks to already having the gears cut, and already having the stenciling done on the cardstock.
Sometimes it pays to keep your 'tests'. :)
Supplies:
CS - Bazzill
PP - Crate Paper
letters - Lily Bee
stencil - The Crafters Workshop
mist - Studio Calico
ink - Ranger

Don't Frighten the Neighbors - scrapbooking ninjas in a geek household
We got some unseasonably warm weather in March this year, and the kids (and hubby) decided it was time for dress-up and playing ninja in the yard - the front yard... with swords... in view of the neighbors and passing cars... (this is what it's like in my household - 2 geek adults and 2 kids who will likely be just like us... ha!) Oh, and that's not a glare on my layout, it's in the actual photo - hubby was deliberately trying to make me get a lens flare. Whatever!
Got to play with some of the awesome new washi tapes from Love My Tapes. I want to use that grid tape on everything now.
I had been playing with some of the new Dylusions sprays, and I kept the resulting tags for future use - this one ended up working nicely right here. I have a feeling tags will be a recurring theme around here for a while... just sayin'...
I added a few Kimmieprout buttons - they went perfectly with the Lucky 7 Factory papers.
Does your spouse cause more mayhem than the kids, too? :P
Supplies (Love My Tapes):
Numbers washi tape
Grid washi tape
Other Supplies:
PP - Lucky 7 Factory
fimo embellishments - Kimmieprout
stamps - Kesi'Art
letters - Echo Park
mini-brads - Queen & Co
spray - Ranger Dylusions
stencil - The Crafters Workshop
ink - Ranger, StazOn
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen

Roundup - April 5/12 - Geeks are my people
So, I thought that maybe I would try doing a weekly roundup of cool stuff I found on the interwebs... or things I like... or things & stuff... or poor grammar & stuff.... Let me know what you think!
Geek & Sundry launched their youtube channel this week, starting with this Geek anthem. Geeks are my people.
Other neat stuff:
- The Lucky 7 Factory new paper collection. Don't forget to leave some for me. kthxbai
- Cellos are cool - cellists with a sense of humor, more so.
- Why didn't I think of this?
- This started this week. If I don't come up for air, you'll know why...
- Some Cabochons are just too pretty to stick in an album
- I want the tiger one... Or not...
- A large part of why I no longer go to movies...
- I will not go to the fabric store...I will not go to the fabric store... I will not go to the fabric store...
- Best April Fool's joke I saw this week.
- Oh yeah! They went there...
- Cute Things Exploding

A feminine birthday card - Ruby Rock-it
Last month I made a couple of cards featuring the August Moon collection from Ruby Rock-it. I started with a birthday card, as I always seem to run out!
The "Cool Mint" glitter cardstock from the Sugar Candy line pairs perfectly with August Moon (don't let the colour name fool you - it looks perfectly grey when used with August Moon). And this is "JJ-safe glitter ™" - subtle, and firmly attached.
The tags in this collection are the perfect size for cardmaking, encouraging one to use up leftover papers after making some layouts.
Supplies (Ruby Rock-it):
- August Moon papers
- August Moon tag set
- August Moon pearls
- Sugar Candy glitter cardstock - cool mint
- Bella! Bling borderlines - clear
- Fundamentals letter stickers - pink
Other Supplies:
CS base - Prism
ink - Ingvild Bolm by Prima
marker - Staedtler

First Egg Hunt - Easter layout with Green Tara
I had fun getting into girly-girl mode with this layout. I wanted a spring feel (despite the colours in the photos, ha!) for this Easter page, so I used lots of Green Tara flowers and trim.
I combined two trims (Ivory Gingham Frill and Pink Twisted Organza Pearl) around the edge of the circle, for a layered effect, and to add a little more texture without overwhelming the page - I still wanted the photos to be the main attraction.
There were so many soft-coloured flowers, I couldn't choose just one type, so I added a few in different shades to coordinate - Apple Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms, Asters, and Roses.
These little leaves are actually wired, giving a lot of possibilities for positioning. I love having options!
Supplies (Green Tara):
trims - 15mm Gingham Frill Ivory/White, 9mm Twisted Organza Pearl Antique Pink Ivory
flowers - Blue/White Apple Blossoms, Pink Apple Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms Cream, 6.5cm Aster Batik Vintage, 4cm Aster Batik Vintage, 1cm Roses Yellow
leaves - Small Green/Yellow/Rust Leaves 2.9cm
Other Supplies:
PP, letters, rub-ons, journal spot - Bo Bunny
pearls - Zva Creative
ink - Ingvild Bolm by Prima, StazOn
marker - Sharpie
