"Fun in the Sun" summer / beach scrapbook page with Ruby Rock-it

This summery page features the Ruby Rock-it “Nostalgia” collection.  Some of the papers have a sewing vibe, so I love to add stitching when using these papers.  I used a bright yellow cardstock from the Sugar Candy collection – perfect for a summery beach page.

The kraft tags from the Fundamentals match perfectly with the kraft colours in some of the Nostalgia papers.  I used this one for my journaling spot, and then cut a red one from the patterned papers, to go with it.

I added a few strips of paper, along with one of the border stickers for a little more colour.

A 2” punch is just the right size for the spools on the patterned paper, and I took advantage of that here. The top one has been lifted using Liquid Scrap Dots.

Thanks for visiting!

Sugar Candy glittered cardstock - Lemon Drop
Nostalgia patterned cardstock “Tokens"
Nostalgia patterned cardstock “Tickets"

"Wonder" - scrapbook layout with washi tapes - Love My Tapes

For this page I started out with a grid, inspired by the checks in this Love My Tapes purple washi tape.  I added more washi tape and some patterned paper inside the ‘squares’.

I covered a couple of small chipboard shapes with one of the washi tapes.

These flower were made from the fabric tapes  - I adhered them to cardstock, then die cut the flower shapes.

Thanks for visiting!

PP – Basic Grey, Pink Paislee resist paper
Letters – Basic Grey

"Drippage" - ice cream cones and Green Tara

When Scrapbook Centrale asked me to make a store sample with these yummy Authentique papers, I knew right away which flowers I wanted to use.  The colours are perfect with these new sakura flowers from Green Tara:

I can't get enough of these white velvet leaves - so feminine!  They come wired, so I curled the end for a little added 'greenery', ahem...   You can also see some of the Pleated Organza and loop trim in this close-up.

This Organza Butterfly on Wire trim is a nice touch of whimsy.  I like that it's lightly wired - makes it easy to make it sit exactly the way you want.

The tag was one of my 'playing around with supplies' tags, and ended up working well with the colours here.

Still have 'magic mesh' in my stash?  Um, yeah, and gonna use it too!  I like the texture, but I tend to forget I have it.

Supplies (Green Tara):
flowers - Sakura coral (XF9221Cor), Sakura lime (XF9221Li), Sakura lilac (XF9221L)
leaves - Velvet leaves white (XL266WhP)
ribbon - 25mm Pleated Organza ivory (RB316Iv)
trims -  7mm loop trim olive (RBDAOl), 25mm Organza Butterfly on Wire - off white (RB6764OW)

Other supplies:
PP, stickers, letters - Authentique
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen
gesso - Liquitex
stamp - Kaisercraft
ink - StazOn
other - Magic Mesh, office supply tag, and random mists and stamps that were on the tag

Teacher thank you card - Ruby Rock-it

Rr-teacher

This card is a thank you for my son's teacher.  She's been a complete jewel, worth her weight in gold.  I felt a royal theme would be appropriate, and used the Ruby Rock-it "Vintedge" collection for the card.

The crown is from the Bling collection, of course.

Be Still - Art Journal page, playing with colour

I haven't shared any art journaling here for a while.  Most of my journaling is a little too personal (or there's cussing...) so I don't share all of it here, but this page was more about playing with colour and paint.  :)   I decided to try one of the colour palette challenges over at The Color Room (this is palette #113).

I may or may not have an addiction to stencils...

Supplies - um... not sure how complete this list is - not really in the habit of tracking supplies when I play with paint...
PP - Kaisercraft, Lucky 7 Factory, Hambly
acrylic paint - Decoart, Amsterdam
stamps - Unity, Tim Holtz
stencils - The Crafters Workshop, Prima, Artist Cellar, Dylusions
rub-ons - Fancy Pants, Doodlebug
flowers - Prima (finally found a use for those "got flowers" bottles, ha!)
water-soluble wax pastel - Caran d'Ache
other - office tag, pretty sure there's some Dylusions in there somewhere, random die cut papers...

Twelve - tween birthday layout, with Love My Tapes

With all the washi tape love that's been going around lately, my Love My Tapes fabric and lace tapes have been feeling neglected, so I used a bunch of them for this page.

To create the background for my photos, I lined up several strips of the fabric tapes to get wider patterns.  You can either do this carefully and line up the pattern, but I kinda like the random look to emphasize they are separate pieces.

I alternated strips of the lace tape - I like the mix of textures and shades.

The brown polka dot pattern is from one of the self-adhesive fabric sheets - you want to grab one of these while they are still in the store - I love these.

The fabric and lace didn't need to be stitched in place, but these older letter stickers needed a little extra help, so I stitched right across them.  Why not?  :)

Supplies (Love My Tapes):
Fabric sheet - brown polka dot (FS022)
Fabric tapes- Sophie (FT003), Madison (FT005)
Lace tapes - 13mm beige (LT2002), 12mm brown (LT8024)

Other supplies:
PP, rub-ons - Basic Grey
flowers - Prima
letters - Rose Moka
buttons - Autumn Leaves
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen

"Bowling" - scrapbook layout with Green Tara Flowers, and Helmar to hold it all together.

The June challenge over at the Helmar blog is a colour-scheme challenge.  Check it out for more details - it would be fun to have you play along!   Would you believe these are all Christmas papers?  They certainly fit the challenge.

Of course, I headed straight for my Green Tara flowers and trims to embellish the page - and found these beauties (Damask 8cm Fabric and Organza Flower Aqua, Heirloom 6.5cm Silk and Organza Flowers Dusky Pink, and Grey Blue):

You can also see a couple of the white Velvet Leaves, and the cream Spray nestled in with the larger flowers.

I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry on all the flowers, trims and embellishments.  It has the strength to hold without needing gobs of glue that will show on things like this wire clip and the white Lattice ribbon.  I tucked a few of the white petals around the paper layers as well.

Have you seen the '"Organza Butterfly on Wire" trims yet?  They are fun and playful, and some of the colours would totally work on 'boy' pages, too!
