Make a Wish

I love the Gypsy collection by Bo Bunny. Such great depth in the designs - I adore visual texture. A great thing about this collection is that it works well for both boy and girl pages - always a plus for me!

Such great stickers with this collection - the flourishes don't have to look girlie unless you want them to. And the grungy rub-ons - a favorite of mine.


I added curls of paper around the page to give it a more festive / party look.


I've had this Bo Bunny barbed-wire stamp for a while, and I keep coming back to it, because it's perfect on 'boy' pages!


I used another Bo Bunny stamp around the page to add a little more detail.

Upcycling - LCOM Card Challenges

This week's card challenge, over at the Let's Capture Our Memories blog, is all about upcycling. We were to use something on our cards that would normally have been tossed in the recycle bin or garbage can.

I'd been saving some of these Prima packages for a project like this - they are too pretty to toss. I included 3 different ones here, actually. The flowers are cut from Bo Bunny patterned papers.


The swirly transparent designs are from a package of hair clips. I guess it worked out well I needed new ones this week! I punched the butterflies from the remainder of the Prima Marketing flower package, and added some distress stickles for a little shine.

Something a little different

This is where my secret doll-collecting habit becomes not-so-secret. Yup - I collect fashion dolls. This doll is 16" (1/4 scale), and boy did I have fun dressing her!


When I saw the "Peacock Lane" collection from Bo Bunny, I immediately knew I wanted to create a train with the peacock feathers. The rest of the dress required a little more thinking, but here's the end result.


Everything in this doll outfit (minus the cameo) is from the Bo Bunny "Peacock Lane" collection.



You guessed it - this is made of paper.


The 'lace' of her ascot is made from Bo Bunny flowers. I used the same technique for her 'lace' cuffs.


Draping the peplum was tricky, but worth the effort:


Yes - I really put part of this through the sewing machine - it was the only thing strong enough to hold the pleats.


I adore the colours in this collection - if this was fabric, I would have gone full scale!


Her bustle was fun to make. I used fussy cuts from the patterned paper, mixed with stamped images (also from the "Peacock Lane" collection) stamped on transparency, to get a floating effect.


The centre is highlighted with a Bo Bunny flower and jewel.

Wake Up!

I had a project I made with leftover supplies from my Mon Scrapbook spring DT kit, and I wanted to share it. I love these papers from Mémento.

The pearls were all white, but I coloured them with a Copic marker, to match my page. The flowers are from the Prima "Innocence" collection. I applied glimmer mist with a paintbrush, so that I could control the look.


The flourishes are Prima Stamps, which I used on a transparency, to make them easier to apply to my page.


The cut-off strips on this paper collection have mini-letters printed on them - what a great idea!

Use Your Stash - LCOM Card Challenges

Cards - July kit

I made a few cards using the July kit from Snobby Walrus Paper Crafts. It's a great way to use up scraps, and it's handy to have a few extra cards on hand.

For this card I fussy cut the strawberries and added them with pop-dots. The flourishes were created with liquid pearls.


I used one of the Sassafrass Lass cut-off strips for the border on this card. I love that you can use these instead of just tossing them in the recycle bin.


I was happy to finally find a use for this cute little button that had been in my stash.

Cards for Kids - LCOM Card Challenges

This week's Card challenge over at Let's Capture Our Memories is to create a card for a kid. It was a good challenge for me, as I find I've gotten into a pattern of making cards only for adults, and I have a number of nieces & nephews with upcoming birthdays!

I used one of the new Bo Bunny journaling notes for the bottom of the card, and added Glossy Accents and Distress Stickles (in "Rock Candy") to a number of elements on the card for a little more shine & sparkle. The nice opaque black lines were created with a Uniball Signo gel pen.


A little bling to dot the 'i' dresses up the thickers in the title.

... I'm a Clown

This is my third layout featuring the July Kit from Snobby Walrus Paper Crafts. (Yeah, these pictures might be a little familiar... this is another case of me scrapping the same photos a second time, to give a copy to my mother - Hi Mom!)

So, this month's kit included a tube of loose glitter from Pink Paislee, much to the amusement of my scrappy pals. You see, I have glitter issues. It's not that I don't like the look (au contraire), it's that working with it makes my skin crawl. I can't stand having it on my hands (and inevitably on my face and in my eyes. If you're reading this Sam - yes - I got it in my eyes. Again.)

But this colour was such a nice blue, I put on my big girl pants and tried to make nice with the glitter. Using Glossy Accents as a glue, I changed the colour of the chipboard letters in my title...


and added some sparkle to the circle in the die cut paper:


These chipboard buttons from Jenni Bowlin made great embellishments for a boy page.

Chipboard, Patterned Paper & Embossing - LCOM Card Challenge

Over at Let's Capture Our Memories, this week's card challenge was a 'recipe challenge'. We had to use at least 3 patterned papers, embossing (heat or dry) and chipboard.

I stamped the background with Versamark ink, and embossing with a light brown embossing powder (that smelled like a latte - how cool is that?!). My patterned papers actually come from 3 different Bo Bunny collections (love Bo Bunny), and the chipboard shape is also from Bo Bunny. I added a cork flourish (I used a Tim Holtz die for the shape).

That Can't be Comfortable?!

This is my second layout for the Snobby Walrus Paper Crafts July kit. Can you believe - Sassafrass Lass and Webster's Pages together? And it works!

I don't normally use a lot of Sassafrass Lass, but I have to say - I love the cut off strips on these papers. They become perfect little border strips & accents on your page.


I just love the Prima flowers that came in this kit - I used the whole package (on 2 pages) without even blinking.


The story behind the photos. I still can't get over the fact that she fell asleep like that. And she didn't let go of the chair!

When You've Gotta Nap...

Today the new July kit from Snobby Walrus Paper Crafts has it's reveal on their site. Don't forget to head on over to see what the rest of the team has created.

This month's kit includes an awesome flocked transparency from Fancy Pants. I love that shade of blue.


I trimmed some of the flowers from the May Arts sheer ribbon, and mixed them in with the Prima flowers.


I wanted some flourishes on this page, so I made my own using liquid pearls. I had kept the backing from some Prima crystal flourishes, and used it to trace out the shape of the swirls, making it very easy to get a smooth design.
