Here's another layout I created with for my guest designer spot at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. They are offering 3 gorgeous kits this month, and some of them are in limited supply - so get on over to her store and take a look. This layout features mostly Dream Street papers from the "Sam" collection. Beautiful for fall pages. Don't you love it when products from different manufacturers work well together? These die cuts were from the SEI Moravia collection, and fit so well! I inked them and added some pearls for a little more dimension. I also did some stitching with jute twine around the photo. There's something about the rustic look of twine!


I couldn't get enough of the flocked papers from SEI, so I cut out a few shapes to use as embellishments for this page.


I love the new Pink Paisley letter stickers that recently came out - regular size and mini-letters all in one package - great bang for your buck.

November Mini-Album - Crazy Daisy Kits

The November kit from Crazy Daisy Kits included an accordion mini-album by Bazzill. It turned out to be ideal for a 2009 re-cap album about my son. (Shhhh - this is a Christmas gift).


I inked the album and papers with "Brushed Corduroy" Distress Ink, and used a lot of glimmer mist in "Tattered Leather" and "Coffee Shop" (yup, my two favorite colours of glimmer mist).


And I got re-acquainted with cardstock, since I recently acquired an embossing machine.


A fairly simple album. There are more pages but they are essentially the same - just different pictures. I like to repeat designs throughout my mini-albums.

1st Pumpkins (version 2)

Yes, you might have seen these photos before. This is another one of those times when I have scrapped the same photos twice. One version of this will be for the proud Grammy! This version was created with the November kit from Crazy Daisy Kits.

No need to clean your monitor - there's no dirt on this layout... I spritzed some of the papers with glimmer mist in "Coffee Shop" and "Tattered Leather". I like the grungy look it adds, as well as a little shimmer.

Speaking of grunge, I had a lot of fun with the grungeboard in this kit. Did you know that you can emboss this stuff? I wanted to change the texture, so I used an embossing folder and put it through my embossing machine. Worked great - it gave a whole new look to it. And I really love the "Coffee Shop" glimmer mist on the grunge board.


I wanted a more open look to my journaling spot, so I cut it into pieces. There were lots of these journaling spots in the kit - I used a bunch, and I still have some left. I love feeling like I don't have to scrimp on product!

Pumpkin Hunt

Here's another layout that I created with the November kit from from Crazy Daisy Kits. What an awesome kit for all your fall pages!

Who says journaling spots have to be used for just journaling? I used 3 of the Jenni Bowlin ones on this page in the same way that I would use patterned paper, and I love the look! You can also see in this photo that I spritzed them (and the background paper) with glimmer mist in "Tattered Leather". Love that colour for masculine pages!


I pleated one of the ribbons to create this embellishment. At first I was trying to make a flower with it, but it looked a little too girl-y for this page, so I re-shaped it a bit and added the grungeboard, which was also spritzed with the glimmer mist.


I added some of the rub-ons to the journal tags, and dressed up the grungeboard with some brads.


I had also spritzed the My Mind's Eye tag that I used for my journaling.

I'm blogging from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's autumn here, and most of the leaves are gone from the trees in my yard. This is the view from my front window:

Here's a little picture of my scrap space. I scrap on one of the counters in my kitchen. Good thing it's a big kitchen! It's not a lot of space to scrap, and it's kinda messy (OK, a lot messy). But it's out of reach of the toddler and there's enough room for my essentials. I do a lot of work here!


And because I find it so hard to post without posting something scrappy, here's one of my recent projects. I created this layout with my guest DT kit from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. (Click on images for a larger view).


The papers from the Moravia collection (by SEI) are full of texture. I love papers like this! I inked and pleated strips of paper to form the circle.

This little medallion was fussy-cut from another sheet in the collection. I couldn't let it go to waste!

Swing Time

This layout was created with the November main kit from Scrapbook Star. It features papers from Shabby Green Door, which has a great look for those of us who love to distress.


I used some of the rub-ons in various places around the photos, to add 'borders'. Around the circle, I have placed strips of paper that were folded and inked. Then I stitched inside the circle with the twine from the kit.


The Kaisercraft flowers are great for layering, and I also added a piece of the Doodlebug frill as a flower centre, topping it off with a gem.

Monthly On-Line Crop @ Scrapbook Star

1st Pumpkins

This month I was lucky enough to have a spot as a Guest Designer for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. I knew that the owner Lauri had a real knack for putting together kits, as I've purchased some of her monthly kits in the past, but I had no idea I would be so spoiled with the DT kit. I created 6 layouts with the supplies, and I still have enough for at least 2 more. Considering the amount of paper I use on projects - that's a lot of product!

This is just one of the layouts I made with this kit (I will be posting the rest in the days to come) . There was a great package of Prima pearls and crystals in the kit, and I had fun making a circle with some of them.


I don't usually use photo corners, but I really liked these filigree ones! The SEI die-cuts are not just a flat paper, they are a textured cardstock which takes inking beautifully.


A number of the papers in this collection are specialty cardstocks. This striped one has metallics. I actually used both sides, because it had an equally beautiful pattern on the opposite side. How often do you see specialty papers that are 2 sided?! And it's hard to see in this picture, but the KI lace cardstock also has a slight shimmer.

Instead of using regular cardstock for my journaling strips, I used one of the border stickers from this collection. It added just a little more depth, and I love that.

In the Blink of an Eye

Another layout that I created with the November kit from from Crazy Daisy Kits. The papers in this kit are perfect for both masculine and feminine projects - I love that!

I used one of the Maya Road rub-ons to create this journaling spot. After adhering it to a piece of My Mind's Eye cardstock, I cut out the shape and pop-dotted it.


I like to make longer titles, but it's not always easy to fit in all the letters. Combining different types of letter stickers makes this a lot easier.


The grungeboard in the kit is fun to alter. I sprayed it with glimmer mist in "Tattered Leather", and I just love the look it gives. I thought I loved this product with chipboard, but I'm amazed at how it looks on the grungeboard!

Blissfully Unaware

Here's my second layout with the November kit from from Crazy Daisy Kits. I just love all the great fall colours and products in this kit. If you haven't got yours yet, don't wait - these kits routinely sell-out.

Ever have one of those papers that you love both sides almost equally? And then of course, you've only got one sheet, right? Happens to me all the time. Usually it's because I didn't think to look at both sides when I was at the store. Well, the main paper in this layout was one of those papers for me - I really loved both sides. So what's a girl to do? I cut a circle out of the middle and flipped it over! I placed another coordinating paper behind them both, for a little added contrast, and to help keep everything together.


Yes, that is my son in the background, coming at my daughter at full speed. With a stick in his hand. I'm not sure what he had in mind, but as soon as I snapped the photo, I grabbed the baby and had a few words with the boy... *sigh*


I already had this title in mind when I was editing my photos, so I was delighted to find this "Bliss" transparency in the kit - it was perfect as part of my title!


I used one of the Crate Paper journaling stickers from the kit, and I distressed the edges a little, to go more with the look of my page. I also added some pop dots, because it seemed hidden next to all the flowers. The added height was just what it needed.

Look Who's Walking

Have you seen the November kit from from Crazy Daisy Kits? They've done it again - a kit jam-packed with scrappy goodness. And not just one kit - this month they've added even more kits, so be sure to check out their options!

This is my first layout done with the November kit. I love that the colours were perfect for these first pictures of my daughter walking. She had been walking for a couple weeks, but I'd never really caught any good photos of her.

I tucked a few of the GCD Studios rub-ons around the layout. This flower one fit on the Jenni Bowlin journal tag quite nicely.


I used one of the Crate Paper border stickers as a partial photo mat. It was just enough to create a little extra contrast on the side.

This Hambly transparency has been in my stash for a couple of years, so I'm glad it finally found a good home!

Déjà vu

It's reveal day at Scrapbook Star! Here's my first layout from the November kit. Don't forget to pop on over to see what the rest of the team has created!

I cut some of the flowers in half and tucked them under the edge of the photo. I love creating borders like this. Yeah, I grunged them up a bit with some ink. I couldn't resist.


I wanted a little extra punch of red above the title, so I punched some butterflies from one of the Doodlebug frills.


When Liam was this age, we absolutely couldn't keep him out of the cat food. He loved to turn over the bowl and spread it around. Rhys apparently loves the same thing.
