A Spot by the Fire

One Good Thing that happened today is that I got a seat by the fireplace at Starbucks this evening. Love the cozy warmth of a fireplace.

One Good Thing that happened today was that I was able to secure a spot for the National Scrapbook Day crop (May 3/08). This crop that Scrapbook Centrale hosts every year is very popular with local (and not so local) scrapbookers. Registration started at 10am on Wednesday, and I went early to line up (it worked out well that registration day coincided with a day I had a doctor's appointment, so I was able to go in person). I remember how fast it sold out last year, and this year was sold out equally fast.

I'm very happy that a lot of my scrappy friends are also able to go. It was a lot of fun last year, and promises to be just as good this year.

DT Reveal for Scrapbookers Clubhouse

One Good Thing that happened recently was the design team reveal (of the March kit) at Scrapbookers Clubhouse. As the Guest designer for the month of February, I received the March kit in advance, and got to participate along with the regular DT in the reveal.

Friday Crop Night

I went to the Friday crop at Scrapbook Centrale this evening. I got almost nothing accomplished, scrapping-wise. But that's OK, because a few of us left the crop a little early and headed to Starbucks for a hot drink and some nice conversation.

I realized that these crops have become (for me) less about the scrapbooking, and more about the friendship building. It's a great de-stressor after the work week, and I find myself looking forward to it more each week.

New Job for Dear Hubby!

One Really Good Thing that happened today is that my husband got the job he interviewed for last week.

We are both very excited, because his current contract was to end very soon, the new job is at a great company, and it's a good opportunity for him.

I'm so happy!

Socks

One Good Thing today is that I'm wearing comfy socks. Comfy socks make my feet happy, which in turn makes my day better.

Add to that, the giggle fit my toddler had when I'd put on a sock and wiggle my toes, and it's all good.

DT Reveal for Paws On Scrapbooking

One Good thing that happened today was the February design team reveal at Paws On Scrapbooking. As the February Guest Designer, I got to take part in this month's kit and reveal.

Bathroom Reno is done!

The bathroom renovations are done - Yay!

The new floors are nice, solid and level (!) and the new tiles look great. I'm so happy to finally have at least two rooms in our house where the work has been done right! (The previous owners of this house fancied themselves to be renovators. They were wrong.)

Now on to the fun part for my bathroom - decorating! I'm actually really looking forward to choosing a nice paint colour and 'dressing up' my bathroom!

DT Reveal for A Shade of Blue

Bathroom Reno

One Good Thing today was that the bathroom renovations have begun. I'm so glad, because I was really getting tired of wondering when the toilet & vanity were going to come crashing through to the floor below! Yikes!

Bonus Good Thing: I thought we were going to be stuck with boring, white, commercial looking tiles, but I got to choose pretty, smoky-blue tiles for my bathroom floor!

Guest Designer at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse!

One Good Thing that happened recently is that I was chosen as the Guest Designer (February) for Scrapbooker's Clubhouse.

Scrapbooker's Clubhouse is a monthly kit club and on-line store based in Slave Lake, Alberta. Their monthly kits have several add-on options, so you get just the kit that suits your needs.

I've already received the kit that I'm to work with, and I'm quite excited about it, as the colours are perfect for 'boy pages' - which is what I mostly do. The colours are nice and lively.

The sneak peak reveal is Feb 15th, so please pop by and check what we've been up to! The rest of the DT reveal will follow over the next week or so. The middle of the month sneak peak will give you plenty of time to order the March kit before they sell out!

SBCH has an incentive program for it's various monthly challenges on it's forum, and you the more you participate, the more opportunities you will have to earn discounts for their store. Getting pages done AND getting discounts on scrappy shopping? That's a great combination!

SBCH also has a blog where they issue challenges you won't see on the their forum. And just like the forum, participation has it's perks.

A Good Thing at the DMV?!?

One Good Thing that happened today was at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Now, normally DMV & Good shouldn't be used in the same sentence, but the good thing was that I waited only 15 minutes to take care of renewing my license. I was anticipating a much longer wait, so this was a pleasant surprise.

One Good Thing that happened today didn't actually happen to me. It happened to a complete stranger.

When I sat down at a table at Starbucks this afternoon, I noticed that someone had left behind her purse. I decided I would bring it to the cash if the owner didn't show up before I was ready to leave.

She did show up, and she was so relieved! You should have seen the look on her face. I've lost my purse before, so I know how she must have felt. I was glad that I got to witness her Good Thing today.

One Good Thing that happened this week is that my 'scrapping mojo' seems to be on it's way back.

I've been a bit over-tired since the holidays, and my creativity has been one of the casualties. I think it's startng to come back though, because I was finally able to start scrapping some layouts that don't feel forced.

I would love to show you one that I just finished, 'cause I really like it, but it's for a kit challenge at Paws On Scrapbooking, and the reveal isn't until February 11.

One Good Thing that happened this evening is that I had help getting my car unstuck.

I went to a Friday night crop at Scrapbook Centrale (as I often do) and the weather wasn't very good. The parking lot hadn't been plowed before it was time to leave, so a few of us had a tricky time.
